The Whole Erk Catalogue Tales of a Geek Abroad

I like my fun to have at least some wholes.

I never really got kites before. Now I think I do, a little late. It's not so much the flying it, although that is pretty fun too; I had a lot more fun making it and then flying something I had made myself. It's a pointless little thing, a square of paper held taut over two sprigs of bamboo, but it can fly and I made it with my own hands. That's a lot more satisfying than flying a chunk of brightly coloured plastic from the toy store. Feeling something I made pick up and take off is... kinda neat.

I had a lot more fun watching my kids, though. They were sure enjoying themselves.
